Have you ever had a dream in your heart of something that seems so far off that you feel crazy to even dream it? That’s how my garden has felt for me. What I am in the midst of building, is what I envisioned when Chris and I built that 4×6 foot bed on the side of the house. I will do another post with a brief timeline of the building process and planting up until now. But today’s post is just a catalog of what I have been filling these beds with and will be continually updated until complete.

As explained in my youtube video, I’m planting the backyard garden in two phases. Phase 1 beds will be planted and filled first. Then for some succession sowing, the phase 2 beds will be filled at a later date. Because the phase 2 beds have shading. My thought process is that the phase 1 beds will begin to die off once summer really gets hot, but phase 2 should be setting fruit and hopefully will survive because of the shade. This is all speculation considering this is my first season with these beds.

I do have a crucial task that needs to be done which will complete the main components of the garden which is trellising and arches. But that is neither here nor there in regard to the topic for today.
